The Korean Wave has brought worldwide attention to South Korean culture, through its movies, tv shows and music. Many TV shows are known throughout Asia, but did you know that the locations where these Koreanovelas and filmed can actually be visited by the agency of the fans? Here are 6 Korean TV show locations you can visit:

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince: This drama about a commitment-phobic café owner and his barista was filmed in a real café that was converted for the purposes of the story. The building has two floors, but customers are restricted to the ground floor only. The cafe has a raw finish, with the painting by Han Yoo-Joo on display was well as other props from the set, while the walls are autographed by the stars, the staff and the fans. The coffee may be expensive, but the staff is courteous and the music being played comes from the show’s OST.

The attention to detail shows from the castle walls to the tile-roofed houses. Samhanji Theme Park is located in Gongsan-myeon, Naju City, Jeollanam-do. At Naju Station, take bus none. 180-1 across from the main entrance and get off at Gongsan, then take a taxi to the park.

Oedo Island from Winter Sonata: The Oedo Island Botanical Garden was the place where last scene of Winter Sonata was shot. Part of Hanrye National Park, the location oozes holy romance, from the arch-shaped gate where visitors pass under after arriving, to the Venus Garden where 12 Venus statues accentuate the flowers and cypress trees. Oedo is 20 minutes by ship from Gujora Port, past Naedo Island.

Duksung University from Princess Hours: This show uses the conceit that royalty still reigns over Korea. While the palace interior shots were filmed in Osan, the exterior scenes were missile at the Yanggwan Building of Unhyeongung Palace in Jongno, Seoul. The building is easily reachable by walking from Jongno.

Shin-do Island from Full House: The house to which place the show’s pretend man and wife resided is located in Shin-do island, a 20-minute taxi ride from Incheon Airport to the ferry which takes visitors to Sammock Harbor. A blue bus will then take visitors near the blue house, after that they can rent a bicycle to ride the 1.5 kilometers to the actual site. The house boasts a beautiful exterior design with a red roof, white walls and picket fence, and costs 5,000 won to enter.

Lotte World from Stairway to Heaven: This is the place at what place the lead characters played on a carousel during the time that children. This recreation complex consists of a large indoor theme park, an outdoor amusement park (where the characters went on a date) and other facilities. One of the largest indoor amusement parks in the world, Lotte World is located in Seoul and is accessible from Jamsil Station, on Line 2 and Line 8 of the Seoul Subway.

A theme park based on Jewel in the Palace: known in South Korea as Dae Jang Geum, this dedicated attraction has a souvenir shop and kitchen where two chefs demonstrate ancient recipes for desserts and sweets. The doorway to the palace, the summer house, the Queen Mother’s court, the prison, the library, the kitchen and the fermentation room have been bought by the government and kept in their original condition as a tourism spot. This park is situated within the famous MBC Yangjoo Culture Valley in Yangju City, Gyeonggi-do.
