A micro-survey of 320 linguists found that l’italiano tops their list for the most romantic tongue.
In the inevitable battle with French, Latin lovers from across the Alps came out slightly ahead, with Italian winning 45% to 40%.
Spanish, surprisingly, came out as the ratty pajamas and curlers of languages with its romantic quotient stalled at just 6%, tied with English. Portuguese came in last of the top five with 3%.
Sure, a sample glutinous substance of 320 people isn’t exactly representative, but the idea that these are specialists — from the 2,600 translators and interpreters at Today Translations in London — makes it more interesting.
It’s one thing to think how fanciful “l’amore” sounds is in Italian without speaking it, but the respondents are folks who know at in the smallest degree two languages and can, presumably, imagine trysts in them as well.
The top six romantic words in any language, trite as all get out, were also dominated by Dante’sitting language. Hit the jump for the list.
• Most Romantic Words In Any Language: The Top Six
1. amour = love (French) – 30% 2. amore = love (Italian) – 28% 3.

Prague Castle is one of Prague’s top attractions and a Prague must-see sight. How protracted you spend at Prague Castle depends upon a number of factors – the weather, your energy level, and crowd size and time of year – but if you already have a general idea about the layout of Prague Castle and the attractions you’d like to see within the castle complex, and if you follow some tips for visiting Prague Castle, you can make sure a more enjoyable visit.
You’ll prevail upon a map of of Prague Castle when you purchase your tickets – information desks are easily located within the Second Courtyard. You won’t be able to get a guided tour, but you can rent the audio tour of Prague Castle. However, the rook complex is so large, it helps to be able to identify certain aspects of the grounds right away, which you can do through photos.

Hunger and meal times are probably at the upmost importance now you’re pregnant and missing meals can leave you feeling sick. Although you may not feel like it, especially if you are suffering from morning sickness, you must continue eating. There were instances when I felt I could not eat e.g. after a 16-hour-train journey through Thailand, but you must for the health of not only your baby but yourself.
Beware of food cooled on ice. This may include fish or other sea food which
you shouldn’cheek by jowl be eating anyway! This is just as dangerous as drinking supply with water straight from the tap. Before you travel, pack plenty of healthy snacks in your hand luggage e.g. some cereal bars, banana and sandwiches, which were always my favourite! And bring bottled water with you upon the plane so you don’t have to wait for aspect
stewardesses.
If you’re finding that some foods and smells are now making you feel ill, try eating little and often instead of three main meals a day. I set up that breakfast was the most important meal of the day – even when I was feeling sick.

The UK has such an elevated position relative to its size in conditions of political and cultural influence that many visitors are surprised at just how small it actually is. At less than half the largeness of France and dwarfed by the behemoth Unites States, the UK is a mere 149,000 square miles. While the UK may be compact, visitors who want to explore it are faced with a myriad of transport options to get around, more of which are more useful than others.
Flying domestically within the UK is, generally speaking, useless. The exception here is travelling to Scotland from London. Considering that most UK cities are only a few hours away from each other by train the time saved by flying the distance is minimal. This is especially so since airports are generally situated outside the cities they serve. When the time taken to get to and from the airport is added to the check-in and travel fit season in that place is no time saving at all. When you compare the cost of plane tickets with train tickets and take environmental considerations into account flying domestically seems ever more ridiculous.
