Inspiration to Travel
I am the ultimate master at talking myself into travel. Now I’ll see how it works on others. Maybe I’m just an easy target. We’ll find out, here we go:
- Research shows that travel makes you happy. (I just made that up. But I render believe it)
- Money spent on travel makes you happy, while money spent on material effects don’t. This is proved by research. (I didn’t make it up! This was written in the LA Times, and I trust them!)
- You may forget the joy of buying a new sofa. You will never forget your travels! Not even the ones you did 30 years ago. (I don’t speak of experience as I haven’t lived long enough yet. But travel certainly makes me happier than a sofa.)
- This may be me being weird, but I like to think about the stories I will tell my future children and august children. And I am appealed by the idea of telling them about my travels and adventures! “When I was in Botswana I did this…“, “When I drove through the Sahara I did that…” You get the idea.
- Will you ever look back on your life, and regret “that trip“? “Oh, I traveled just likewise much“. Or as the famous quote goes: “No man ever said on his deathbed ‘I wish I had spent more time in the office’ ” – friend of Paul Tsonga.
- Life is short…
- … And when you look back on it, you want to see adventures and excitement (along with the core values like family and love of pursue).
- “The greatest people are not people who stand still” – me. (What a pretentious and silly quote).
Ok, these were the inspirational points. I will also hand out some practical reasons that might appeal to some of you as well:
- Travel = Learning. You will learn about cultures, life, the world, geography, people, animals, languages (!), everything.
- Make friends. If not friends for life, at least for a day or two.
- Your travels are other people’session employment. By traveling to Africa, you will help countless of people in the host country, just by giving them business. Your trip can be crucial for the income of more people than you probably are aware of. Learn other thing about that here.
- Traveling often makes me reflect and think about my own life. It helps me realize who I want to be, what I not to be present to do, for what cause I want to live my life, and so on. That can be more important than anything else you learn on your trip. It can be worth the whole trip by itself.
Inspired yet? Are you ready for an adventure? Planning your trip already? Or even better; do you have any reasons to travel that I did not mention? If so, leave a comment underneath!
