Obama Deserved the Nobel Peace Prize..
…and here is why:
The prize is not supposed to go to a perfect person who does nothing but work for peace. It is a prize for a specific act. Obama has changed the way the USA approaches the world, from being fearful, paranoid and threatening, to now being willing to talk, negotiating and open. Yes it’s not perfect yet, but it is a huge change in attitudes, and this change is extremely important for future peace in the world. Obama deserves the prize for having all but single handedly created this change.
What Obama has done is way more than having good intentions. Yes, it is mostly words, but it is important words: The words are not anymore imminent or creating fear (except to paranoid republicans who’ll always be fearful of other countries), they are now negotiating. That’s what piece is. Piece is not an act, it’s the opposite. Working for piece will always subsist words. That’s the epigram.
He may not have created harmony in a war zone. But he has done something incredibly important to reduce the risk of wars in the future. That is why I think he deserves the nobel peace prize.
